Kafue National Park
Konkamoya is frequently visited by elephants, wild dogs, lions, leopards and servals. With warm italian hospitality and four luxury thatched tents it offers an exclusive safari experience far away from other travellers.
Konkamoya is the only lodge set on the banks of the stunning Lake Itezhi-Tezhi in Southern Kafue National Park, one of the last remaining true wilderness areas in Africa.
Four tents of a highly impressive size and design raised on wooden platforms under thatched roofs. Each faces east with an open view across the Lake and on the renowned African sunrise. Perfectly laid out they have their own private lounge, veranda and beautiful bathroom. Electricity is provided by solar and Wi-Fi is offered at the lapa.
Game viewing is done in an open vehicle with certificated guides, as well as walking safaris. After sundown you can enjoy unforgettable encounters with nocturnal creatures like leopards, civets, porcupines and elusive aardvarks too. The Elephant Orphanage is a few kms from camp. Baby elephants are cared for here before they are released into the wild.
Transfers between Lusaka (4h 30 min), Livingstone (7 h) and other camps in the Kafue can be organized. The Ngoma airstrip is only 30 minutes drive.
Konkamoya is open from June to mid November.
