Ivory Lodge

Known as the 'place of the elephants', Ivory Lodge is situated in the world-renowned Hwange National Park. Deep in the mystical teak forests is the unobtrusive camp, bathed in the tales of pioneers and explorers. During the seasonal migration, the regions huge elephant herds are attracted by Ivory Camp's waterhole - a refuge from the scorching heat.
Ivory Lodge is set on its own 6,000 acre conservancy bordering Hwange National Park which is the largest in Zimbabwe – equivalent in size to Wales. The lodge is arguably the finest accommodation in this entire region. Hwange has always been one of the best places to visit for a broad range of safari experiences and Ivory Lodge is “big game” country – lion, elephant, leopard and buffalo are seen regularly from camp as well as in the park. Ivory is built in the tree tops of giant teak forests – diverse habitats attract a variety of wildlife and bird life.

Accommodation

With a maximum of just 12 guests, Ivory Lodge offers an intimate environment. The elevated en suite rooms all have sweeping views of the waterhole that is floodlit by night. The main buildings are set around the deep blue pool and there's a hide out next to the waterhole for incredible close-ups of the big 5 that frequent the pan.

Activities

Hwange National Park is famous for its “giant tuskers” . Herds of 200+ elephants feed and water around the park on their migrational trek between Botswana and Zimbabwe.
