Lesotho - the Mountain Kingdom
This beautiful and picturesque country has long been attracting interest from pony trekkers, hikers and scenery lovers, but until now, no real high quality accommodation has been available to host more upmarket travellers within the country's border.
But all that has now changed with the opening of 5-star Maliba Mountain Lodge. Mailba gives guests the opportunity to simply relax in a secluded, exclusive mountain retreat or be as active as they like, with a heady mix of trrekking, walking, hiking, botany (they have the highest sub-alpine botanical gardens anywhere in the world) geology, ornithology and general wildlife viewing.

The environment

The stunning scenery of Lesotho is quite breath-taking. Mailiba is located in Tsehlanyane National Park - 5,600 hecatres of rugged mountain terrain and is located deep in the front range of the Maluti Mountains. The area is superb for pony treking, walking trails and nature walks, and provides a perfect complement to activities over the border in South Africa.
Culture & Tradition

Lesotho is a country that thrives on tradition, so there is plenty to attarct the culture vulture. The physicla nature of the county has influence the way the hardy Basotho people live and the opportunity to see their daily lives as well as their ceremonies and festivals should make up an essential part of any trip to Lesotho.
